If Business is a Game, then Getting Clients is How You Keep Score

Have you ever thought about how being famous could benefit more than just your social life?

Being famous has benefits in all realms of life, including business.

Everyone has an idea of ‘fame’ or someone who is ‘famous’. Typically, a movie star or sports person pops to mind.

I am here to tell you that those are not the only types of ‘fame’.

If you are curious how you can become ‘famous’ in business, then pay close attention for the next few minutes.

What Even is Fame

Even if you don’t think it, social status is more important than a lot of people give credit to.

Everybody wants to be remembered.

This is essentially what being famous is in a nutshell.

If you are well known in your area or industry or network, then you have accumulated some level of fame.

If you are not super talented or doing well in business or life, then unfortunately you won’t be famous.

You may have heard the saying “if life is a game, then money is how you keep score”.

May sound harsh, but it is a pretty clear metric for success.

Probably even more true in business.

“If business is a game, then clients and profits are how you keep score”.

You wouldn’t hear a business owner say how they were super successful with NO clients. If you are making a loss every month, quarter, and year things aren’t looking good brav.

Benefits of Fame

You are famous because of 1 of 2 reasons.

1.      You made a lot of money doing what you do. To the point that a lot of people have heard of your accomplishments.

2.      You were super talented at some skill. This led to you being recognised, which inevitably leads to you getting handsomely compensated for such skills.

Having money is one of the main benefits of fame.

The difference between having money and not?

Your ability to help others.

If you have no money, how do you expect to take care of yourself? Let alone your family and loved ones. In the realm of business, if you can’t take care of yourself, how are you meant to support a team and staff?

Being able to provide for others helps give you status.

Take the example of being a waiter. Waiters see hundreds of people a week or even a day. Will a waiter remember the guy who tips £10 or the guy who tips £1000?

It is obvious when you think about it.

The guy who tips £1000 is always going to be remembered by the waiter. That guy will always get a table at the restaurant, and not just any table, the best table. He will also be privy to a better dining experience.

How Being Famous Can Benefit Your Business

The same goes for business. Be the provider. Be able to pay top dollar for the people that work for you. Be able to give them bonuses and treat them.

This shouldn’t just be limited to your team. You should be able to show your clients a good time too.

If you can provide for others, they will provide for you. Your team will work harder. Your clients will give you more work. In general people will treat you better.

Imagine all the best talent wanting to work for you?

Imagine you can hand pick all the jobs you take because you get so many enquiries?

Imagine being able to charge top dollar for your service or product and have people begging you to take their money?

This all awaits on the other side of being ‘famous’.

Now I want to remind you, that your definition of fame, should not be pop stars or all-star athletes. You can be famous in a town or industry.

As a local business, this is where you should aspire to get your first levels of fame.

Of course, if you can go the next step and being nationally or internationally recognised then it will only do more wonders for your business.

How to Put Your Business on the Map

This all seems very nice but how realistic is it?

I’ll set the record straight here and now. It isn’t easy. Not by any stretch of the imagination.

This won’t happen overnight.

‘Overnight successes’ are not a thing. They may seem that way. There were countless hours, weeks, months, and years of work going on in the background which suddenly got noticed by everyone else.

You must get your name out there.

Social media is a wonderful tool for this.

The reach you can get for the cost is unbelievable.

I am not just talking social media profiles and making some posts – this helps in the long term and makes people aware of you. But the easiest way to get customers and expose you to the masses instantaneously is with ads.

You could easily get 2,3,10+ the return on investment with a properly formulated ad campaign.

Little do many businesses know that running a campaign to get more sales, will lead to increased social media followings. It is a win-win in that regard.

Focusing on engagement alone is obscene when you can get clients and engagement all in one.

If you want to get more clients, engagement and ultimately be on the road to local business fame status.
